Circuit Matchingcircuit board chips

The same in every game: the solution below always works.

Also called: PCB · breadboard · chip sockets

What you see

In Dahne’s Laboratory, a breadboard has 6 sockets, each marked with two colours. There are 6 chips, each with three colours and a circuit symbol. The chips and sockets are made for the shrunk player.

  • Red · Grey · Yellow
  • Red · Grey · Purple
  • Red · Blue · Purple
  • Green · Blue · Purple
  • Green · Grey · Yellow
  • Green · Blue · Yellow

How it works

  1. A chip is right for a socket when it has both of the socket's colours.
  2. Some sockets fit two chips, but only one way of placing all 6 chips works.
  3. When the chips are in, press the check button. The check runs 2 seconds later.
  4. The shrunk player places the chips: chips and sockets can only be reached from very close. Either character can be the shrunk one.

Colour pegs

Each colour has its own shape on the pegs. The shapes were read off the game's texture, so treat them as likely:

ColourShape
Redtriangle
Yellowcross
Greypentagon
Purplestar
Greensquare
BlueY shape

Name each socket by its two colours and each chip by its three. The chip must contain both socket colours.

Solution

Show hint

Start with the sockets that only one chip fits. Each of them has a colour pair that only one chip has.

Show the answerSpoiler

Place the chips like this, then press check:

SocketChipChips that fit
Red & BlueRed · Blue · Purple1
Purple & GreyRed · Grey · Purple1
Green & GreyGreen · Grey · Yellow1
Purple & BlueGreen · Blue · Purple2
Yellow & GreyRed · Grey · Yellow2
Green & BlueGreen · Blue · Yellow2

Red · Blue · Purple also fits Purple & Blue, but it is the only chip for Red & Blue. Fill the single-fit sockets first, then each socket that has only one free chip left, until all are placed.

Common mistakes

  • Putting Red · Blue · Purple in Purple & Blue. It has both colours, but it is the only chip that fits Red & Blue.
  • Placing the chips at full size. They can only be picked up from very close, which is the shrunk player's job.
  • Some guides call the yellow peg a plus. It is the same cross shape.
