What you see
On the way to the Particle Accelerator Terminus, the lock is split over two stations about 30 m apart, with glass doors between them. The monitor station has four monitors, three handles and the goop trigger that starts the lock. Each handle has five indicator lights. The button station has 16 symbol buttons in a 4×4 grid and three meters. Each player sees only half of what is needed, so you have to talk.
How it works
- Cover the goop trigger with goop to start the lock. It picks one of 7 fixed variants at random. You never get the same variant twice in a row.
- The four monitors show the variant's four symbols. The player at the monitors calls them out, and the player at the buttons presses the four buttons with the same symbols. The order does not matter.
- The game checks after the fourth press. If any symbol is wrong, the buttons reset and the game picks a different variant. Read the monitors again.
- When all four symbols are right, the three meters at the button station turn on. Each meter shows a position from 1 to 5. The player at the buttons reads them out, and the player at the monitors sets each handle to its meter's position. Positions count the handle's indicator lights. Position 1 is likely the first light.
- Meters and handles are numbered in opposite directions. Likely meter 1 is the left meter at the button station, and handle 1 is the right handle at the monitor station. So the left meter goes with the right handle.
- When all three handles match, the pressure plates turn on.
Likely the Goop Gun player is at the monitors, since the goop trigger is on that side. Agree on short names for the symbols first, like the names in the solver.
Solution
Show hint
You do not need to work anything out. The monitors tell you the buttons, and the meters tell you the handle positions. Only a wrong button costs you: it changes the variant.
Show the solver (all 7 variants)Spoiler
Find the variant with your four monitor symbols. It shows the four buttons to press and where each handle goes.
Tap the symbols on your monitors: Two symbols are usually enough to find your variant.
No variant has all of these symbols. Check what you tapped.

Positions count the handle's indicator lights. Position 1 is likely the first light. Left and right are as seen by the player at each station. The data gives the panel positions; which way the players face is worked out from them, so the left-to-right order is likely rather than certain. Only the monitor order does not matter.
Common mistakes
- Pressing a wrong button. The lock picks a different variant, so the old symbols and handle positions no longer apply. Read the monitors again.
- Matching meters and handles by side. Likely the left meter goes with the right handle.
- Reusing the answer from an earlier game. The variant is random each time the lock starts.
- Thinking the button order matters. Only the set of four symbols counts.
- Removing the goop from the trigger. That turns the lock off.
