What you see
In the Turbine Hall, six fan blades hang one above the other in a tall shaft, 13 m apart. Players call them the six rings. Each blade has a button and a symbol. At the bottom of the shaft is a monitor with three screens, with a chain next to it.
How it works
- Blades are numbered from the top: blade 1 is the highest, blade 6 the lowest.
- Pull the chain all the way and hold it. While you hold it, the three screens show three blade symbols. Let go and the screens go blank.
- Press the blade buttons in the order of the screens, from left to right.
- A wrong press resets the challenge. The blade buttons flash and reset after 3 seconds.
Likely the player at the bottom holds the chain and reads the screens, while the other player presses the blade buttons. Name each symbol before the first press.

The order is the same in every game. Press:

Left screen = blade 4, middle screen = blade 1, right screen = blade 5.
Common mistakes
- Treating 4, 1, 5 as an example for one game. The order is fixed: it never changes.
- Letting go of the chain. The screens go blank unless the chain is held fully pulled.
- Counting blades from the bottom. Blade 1 is the top blade.
- Carrying on after a wrong press. The challenge resets, so start again with the first blade.
