Greenhouseseeds, water and light

The same in every game: the solution below always works.

Also called: Overgrown · plants · fertiliser · Battery Bulb

What you see

In the greenhouse, one player is in Rockbury (the past) and the other in the Present. A seed planted in a Rockbury pot grows in the same pot in the Present. Each seed needs the right pair of fertilisers, and some need water or light.

How it works

  1. Take a seed from a dispenser in Rockbury.
  2. Mix two fertilisers into it at the station: the left and right handles pick one fertiliser each.
  3. Plant it in a Rockbury pot. The plant grows in the matching Present pot if the pot meets its needs.

The Ultimate seed is not in a dispenser: it sits in a container in the Present.

Handle values are the game files' 0 to 4. We have not confirmed how the five positions are marked on the station, so match the colour and shape.

What a plant needs

  1. Fertilisers: both must be the seed's two. Either order works.
  2. Water: some seeds need water, some must not have it, and some do not care. Only pot C has water.
  3. Light: a seed that needs light needs exactly one light on its pot. Two lights is as wrong as none.

Lights are pressure plates in Rockbury. Each plate lights one or two pots:

A fifth plate, E, points at a pot F that does not exist in the data.

Solution

Which seed to plant where along the way, and in what order, is not in our data. This page gives the recipes and the rules only.

Show hint

Read the whiteboards. The electric plants (Electric area and Electric hook) react to the purple fertiliser and cannot grow in water. The Ultimate plant reacts to water.

Each seed's recipe. “Pots” lists every pot where the seed can grow when the right plates are pressed.

The Ultimate seed takes the blue and red fertilisers and needs water, so it only grows in pot C.

Has incredible potential! The energy storage capacity is past our ability to measure with the tools on hand. Safeguard the seed until we can cultivate more of these plants. I'll order a load bank so we can see how much power this thing actually holds.

The strange herbage from beyond the 'windows' do seem to answer differently unto my alchemical solutions. Where most wax strong and flourish when given a brew wherein a small measure of quicksilver is mingled. Yet, some do shrink in malice from the touch of common rain. This brings me much grief of mind, for I had held it true that every green thing must drink of water to keep its life.

Common mistakes

  • Pressing both plates B and C for pot C. Seeds that need light need exactly one light.
  • Planting an electric seed in pot C. Pot C has water, and these seeds cannot have water.
  • Putting the Ultimate seed anywhere but pot C. It needs water.
  • Worrying about which handle takes which fertiliser. Either order works.
  • Some players on the Steam forum report getting stuck in the greenhouse side room. A full restart of the game fixed it for them.
