The Theta Splice is an atrocity and we refuse to be party to using it for its intended purpose.
The environment of this place has been attacking our outpost much like a foreign object lodged in a human body. It's clearly autonomic and not malicious, but I fear we may not be able to complete our work. No doubt Director Bowe will send others.
If you find this journal, I beg of you, close the rift!
All our evidence points to the large cephalopod like creatures being highly intelligent and having a society.
The theta splice can be calibrated to close the rift.
We don't have the right to sacrifice their world for our own.
There are other ways.
