O que sabemos sobre a origem das fendas? Lamentavelmente, pouco. A Norček afirma que elas surgiram em 1945, quando um castelo deslocado possuído por um demônio foi destruído. (Conversa fiada!)
E sobre as próprias fendas? A Fenda Três, por exemplo, parece ser um rasgo para um universo onde o Big Bang nunca passa da era de Planck, sempre se expandindo e coalescendo. Imagine a quantidade de energia se pudéssemos estabilizá-la! A Fenda Sete é um turbilhão de instabilidade temporal, sempre abrindo e fechando "janelas" para o passado e, talvez, até para o futuro. A Fenda Treze emana uma névoa vermelha (foi isolada pela Dra. Bowe), e a Fenda Quatro parece uma espiral perfeita na razão áurea de Euclides.
Seja qual for a natureza dessas rupturas, podemos afirmar com certeza: todas estão ligadas à Fenda Zero, maior e mais estável de todas elas. Se ela cresce, todas crescem. E se ela se fechar, o projeto estará perdido para sempre.

What do we know about the origin of the rifts? Disappointingly little. Norček claim that they were created in 1945 when a displaced castle possessed by a demon king was destroyed. (Utter rot!)
What of the rifts themselves? Rift 3, for example, appears to be a tear into a universe where the Big Bang never makes it past the Planck moment, constantly expanding and coallescing. Imagine the power, if we could somehow stabilise it! Rift 7 is a moving feast of temporal instability, constantly opening and closing ‘windows’ to the past and maybe even the future. Rift 13 seeps red mist, (Dr Bowe has imposed a quarantine) and Rift 4 appears as a perfect spiral, following Euclid’s golden ratio.
Whatever the nature of these ruptures, what we can say with certainty is this: that they are all connected to Rift 0, the largest and most stable of all the fractures. As it grows, so do they. And were it to close, this project would be lost forever.
