E cosa sappiamo delle fratture stesse? La Frattura 3, per esempio, sembra essere uno squarcio verso un universo in cui il Big Bang non va mai oltre l'era di Planck, espandendosi e ricompattandosi di continuo. Immaginate quanta energia potremmo ricavarne, se solo riuscissimo a stabilizzarla! La Frattura 7 è un tripudio di instabilità temporale: apre e chiude di continuo "finestre" sul passato e forse anche sul futuro. Dalla Frattura 13 filtra una nebbia rossa (la dott.ssa Bowe ha imposto la quarantena) e la Frattura 4 forma una spirale perfetta, secondo la sezione aurea di Euclide.
Qualunque sia la natura di queste lacerazioni, ciò che possiamo affermare con sicurezza è questo: sono tutte collegate alla Frattura Zero, la più grande e stabile di tutte. Quando cresce, crescono anche le altre. E se dovesse chiudersi, questo progetto andrebbe perso per sempre.

What do we know about the origin of the rifts? Disappointingly little. Norček claim that they were created in 1945 when a displaced castle possessed by a demon king was destroyed. (Utter rot!)
What of the rifts themselves? Rift 3, for example, appears to be a tear into a universe where the Big Bang never makes it past the Planck moment, constantly expanding and coallescing. Imagine the power, if we could somehow stabilise it! Rift 7 is a moving feast of temporal instability, constantly opening and closing ‘windows’ to the past and maybe even the future. Rift 13 seeps red mist, (Dr Bowe has imposed a quarantine) and Rift 4 appears as a perfect spiral, following Euclid’s golden ratio.
Whatever the nature of these ruptures, what we can say with certainty is this: that they are all connected to Rift 0, the largest and most stable of all the fractures. As it grows, so do they. And were it to close, this project would be lost forever.
