Mi ci sono voluti quattro mesi. Quattro mesi! Solo per arrivare al colloquio di lavoro alla Norček. L'unica nave che ho trovato per lasciare l'Inghilterra era uno yacht a vela che non so nemmeno quanti anni avesse. Poi ci sono state due settimane di quarantena, e quasi tre mesi per attraversare la Repubblica Americana, un po' su camion militari e un po' su un treno a pannelli solari che doveva fermarsi ogni quattro ore per ricaricarsi. Per fortuna alla Norček era rimasto almeno un po' di carburante per la nave diretta in Antartide. Anche se non so se gliene sia rimasto abbastanza per riportarci indietro...

It took me four months - four months! - just to get to my job interview at Norček . The only ship that would take me from England was this sailing yacht, I don't even know how old. Then it was two weeks in quarantine, and nearly three months getting across the American Republic by a mix of army truck and solar-panel train that had to stop every four hours to recharge. Thank goodness Norček at least had some fuel for the boat down to Antarctica. Although I'm not sure if they have enough fuel to get us back...
